| Plot Summary: |
In 2006, in Red River, Tennessee, a teenager has frequent nightmares. Her mother reads an old letter from 1817 written by her ancestor, Lucy Bell. After a dispute of lands judged by the church, her husband John Bell is cursed by his opponent Kathe Batts, who has a fame of being a witch. From this moment on, an entity threatens John and her daughter Betsy Bell, attacking the girl during the nights. With the support of Betsy's school teacher Richard Powell, who tries to find rational explanations for the manifestation; her brother John Bell Jr.; and their friend James Johnston, who unsuccessfully tries to exorcize the entity from the house, the family does their best to protect Betsy in the haunted house. |

The "spectre of red river" - the history, based at the real events, which occurred in THE USA (state Of tennesi) in 19 century. On the history of the family of Bells, which was subjected to the attacks of mysterious spirit, are written 35 books. They all tell about how to the respectable and respected family of Bells was brought down proklyat'e. From some moment into their house the spectre, which attained death of one of the members of family, began to come. 1818 at the farm of the American family of Bells began to be created strange things. First these were the inexplicable rustles - the members of family regularly heard in the house whose- that intermittent respiration and sound of steps. With the time of similar strangenesses it became increasingly more. Spirit as if grew. Its manifestations became more frequent and more aggressive, moreover this aggression in essence was directed to the junior daughter of John Bella - Betsi. Girl underwent terrible tortures. The parents Of betsi, desperately desired to save daughter from the sufferings, neustanno searched for the reason for their postigshey misfortune. Soon after this spirit it disappeared so suddenly as appeared. With the time Of betsi it married teacher Powell and bore children. Spirit no longer disturbed the family of Bells, having forever remained in their memory terrible riddle. And in 1998 was only found professor Powell's diary, in whom were revealed the secret of the appearance of a spectre, the long time of that moved horror in the soul of local residents.
